Uniformly spaced, high-profile bumps with precisely engineered flex — pressure stays where you put it instead of spreading out.

A smooth ball skids off the spot you are aiming at. The texture grips, so you can work a point rather than chase it.

Works on the floor, against a wall, or seated in a chair — so it fits places and bodies that foam rolling does not.

Choosing firmness: on the FLOOR with your body weight behind it, most people want Original. Against a WALL or in a chair you apply far less force, and Xtra Firm usually feels better.

WHICH BEASTIE TOOL?

They are not firmer and softer versions of each other. Each one solves a different problem — how concentrated the pressure needs to be, and whether you can actually get your body onto it.

Focus

How concentrated the pressure is. Higher means a smaller contact patch and a more specific spot.

Reach

How easily it gets to places you cannot lie down on. Higher means less floor, less contortion.

Tool Focus Reach Built for Link
Floor · wall · chairBeastie Ball One point at a time. Glutes, shoulder blades, the arch of the foot, the attachment at the edge of a hip. Ships with a base that holds it still so you can settle onto a spot instead of chasing it.
Floor · wall · chairAdjustable Peanut The length of the back, worked either side of the spine and never on it. The gap between the two balls adjusts — wider for the low back, closer for the base of the neck.
Hand-held · or floor with standsBeastie Bar Calves, forearms, shins and quads without getting on the floor. You drive it with both hands, so you set the pressure directly instead of shifting body weight. Add stands and it becomes a floor tool.
Hand-held · seatedBeastie Hook The mid-back, the top of the shoulder, the side of the neck — places you cannot lie on without tensing the muscle you are trying to reach. Reach over your own shoulder, sitting upright.

Firmness is a separate question from which tool. On the floor with your full body weight behind it, most people want Original. Against a wall or seated you apply far less force — Xtra Firm usually feels better there.

Built to work around the spine, not on it

Two Beastie balls set side by side, with a gap down the middle. That gap is the entire idea: it straddles the spine so the pressure lands on the muscle either side of it and never on the vertebrae themselves.

It is the tool for the length of the back — the neck, the space between the shoulder blades, the low back — where a single ball is hard to place accurately and a roller cannot be precise.

The spacing adjusts

Bodies are not one width, and neither is the right gap for the base of your neck versus your lower back. The spacing between the two balls adjusts, so you can widen it for broader areas and close it up for work near sensitive ligaments.

Floor, wall or chair

Lie on it for full body weight, or put it between your back and a wall and control the pressure by how much you lean. If getting to the floor is difficult, or you want to use it at a desk, the wall and chair versions of the same work require no setup at all.

Which firmness?

Floor work with your full weight behind it suits the Original. Against a wall you are applying much less force, and most people prefer the Xtra Firm there.

Made in the USA.

The right choice depends less on how much discomfort you can take than on how you plan to use the tool.

  • Original — firm but still flexible. The right answer for floor work, where your full body weight is behind it.
  • Xtra Firm — considerably harder, roughly comparable to a lacrosse ball. Against a wall or seated in a chair you apply much lower forces, so the firmer version is the one that registers.

Buying for two people, or not sure which way you will use it? The Ball is available as one of each.

All Beastie products are manufactured in the USA from premium quality materials. The bumps are uniformly spaced and high-profile, with bump flexion engineered so pressure stays concentrated rather than spreading across the contact area.

The Beastie Bar mounts two Beasties on a rigid fibreglass shaft — fixed in place but free to rotate, so the texture rolls across tissue instead of dragging over it.

The bumps permanently retain their shape and resiliency — they do not flatten out with use.

Wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. All RumbleRoller products are latex-free and have been independently lab-tested in accordance with the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act for lead and phthalates.

Free standard shipping on every US order, with no minimum. Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are a flat $18, and Canada is a flat $30. We ship to more than 40 countries.

Covered by the Lifetime Satisfaction Warranty: return at any time, for any reason, for replacement, exchange, or a refund up to full MSRP. You cover return shipping, and it applies once per product type. There is no window to miss.

WHY REACH FOR A BEASTIE

Trouble spots

When a dense knot does not respond to foam rolling, the problem is usually that a roller spreads pressure across too much contact area. A Beastie concentrates it on one point instead. Use it with the base for even more control.

Limited space

A Beastie fits in a bag, a desk drawer or a glove compartment. Nowhere to lie down and no room for a roller is not a reason to skip the work.

Getting to the floor is hard

If lying down and getting back up is difficult, or you are somewhere that foam rolling would be odd, a Beastie works against a wall or in a chair. You control the pressure by how much you lean.

Better than a lacrosse ball

Plenty of people reach for a tennis or lacrosse ball. Neither was designed for this. A smooth ball skids off the spot just as you find it; the texture grips and stays put.

Mechanism

PRESSURE THAT STAYS PUT

A roller distributes your weight along a line of contact. That is what makes it good at large muscles and poor at single points — the force you want on one square inch gets spread across ten.

The Beastie's bumps are uniformly spaced and high-profile, with the amount they flex engineered deliberately. The result is a small contact patch that grips rather than slides, so the pressure you apply arrives where you aimed it and stays there while you work.

The full set

ONE TOOL RARELY COVERS IT

Rollers cover ground. Pinpoint tools work a spot. Bars reach what you cannot lie on. Most people arrive for one of them and end up with two or three, because the tools do genuinely different jobs rather than competing versions of the same one.

Everything is covered by the same Lifetime Satisfaction Warranty, so building the set up over time carries no risk.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

Original or Xtra Firm?

It depends on how you will use it more than on how much discomfort you can take. On the floor, with your full body weight behind it, most people want the Original. Against a wall or seated in a chair you are applying far less force, and the Xtra Firm — roughly as hard as a lacrosse ball — usually feels better. If you plan to do both, or you are buying for two people, the Ball comes as one of each.

Why not just use a lacrosse ball?

A lacrosse ball was designed to be thrown against a wall. It is smooth, so it skids off the spot you are aiming at — usually right as you find it. The Beastie's texture grips, which keeps pressure on the point you chose, and the detachable base holds it still so you can settle your weight onto it rather than balancing.

Do I need this if I already have a roller?

They do different jobs. A roller spreads your weight along a line of contact, which is what makes it good at quads, hamstrings, glutes and lats — and poor at single points, where the force you want on one small area gets spread across a much larger one. If a specific knot is not responding to rolling, that is the gap a Beastie fills.

Ball, Bar, Peanut or Hook?

The Ball is for one point at a time. The Peanut straddles the spine so you can work either side of it. The Bar gives you two-handed control for calves, forearms and shins without getting on the floor. The Hook reaches over your shoulder to the mid-back and neck, sitting upright. The comparison table further up this page lays them out side by side.

Does it come with the base?

Yes. Every Beastie Massage Ball ships with a detachable base. We also sell the base separately as a spare, for people who keep one at home and one in a gym bag, or who want to use two balls at once.

Is it supposed to be uncomfortable?

Some discomfort is normal, especially on tight areas and in the first few sessions. Sharp pain is not. Ease off, use less body weight, or switch to working against a wall where you control the force more finely. If you have persistent or severe pain, numbness, radiating pain, a recent injury, or you are recovering from surgery, talk to a licensed healthcare provider before using any self-massage tool.

Still deciding?

Tell us the area you are working on and we will tell you which tool fits.
